    Heather Krause is a data scientist and digital strategist working on projects for equity and ethics in data. She’s working on the building tools and systems that improve transparency, accuracy, fairness, and inclusion in the data lifecycle. From data collection to data analysis she’s collaborating with social sector organizations, local and national governments, corporations, and data journalists. Always distinguished by the human focus of her rigorous data science work, Heather believes that people are both the solution and the goal when addressing complex data questions. She insists that to make data science relevant and effective, investment and understanding must be fostered among all participants in a project. Her unique contributions have been sought across a range of clients from individual researchers to large international organizations including: FiveThirtyEight, Orb Media, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, CARE USA, the Syrian Refugee Resettlement Secretariat, OReilly, DataCamp, and MasterCard.
